2.5mm hook
2 8mm safety eyes
black thread
key chain
Stitches used (British terms):
Dc = double crochet, Tr = Treble crochet, magic ring, Dtr = double treble crochet, Slst(s) = slip stitch(es), dc2tog = decrease (dc 2 stitches together)
Pattern:
Body:
With your first colour (A) 7dc in a magic ring
2dc in each stitch around (14)
*1dc in next stitch, 2dc in next stitch* repeat around (21)
*1dc in next 2 stitches, 2dc in next stitch* repeat around (28)
1dc in each stitch around (28) for 7 rounds
*1dc in next 2stitches, dc2tog* repeat around (21). Add the safety eyes here, put one about 1 round up from the working round and the other about 5 rounds above that.
*1dc in next stitch, dc2tog* repeat around (14). Stuff firmly before closing.
dc2tog around and tie off. Hide the ends. Sew on a smiley mouth with the black thread!
Wrapper ends (make 2)
In your second colour (B) 4dc in a magic ring
2dc in each stitch around (8)
*1dc in next stitch, 2dc in next stitch* repeat around (12). Change to yarn A.
1dc in each stitch around (12). Change back to yarn B.
(In the next stitch *slst, tr, dtr*, in the next stitch *dtr, tr, slst*) repeat this around to end up with 6 "ruffles". Change to yarn A.
Dc in each tr and dtr but skip all slsts - this should push all the ruffles out so they look "ruffled"!
Weave in all ends.
Assembly
Lastly sew on the keychain to the top of the body with yarn A. And that's it! Your sweetie keychain is ready to decorate any bag/keys you fancy. Enjoy! Please do not sell or reproduce this pattern or finished objects online, thanks.
